About Us
About SDCERS
SDCERS offers a comprehensive range of services to our members, including individual appointments with our retirement counselors to discuss purchasing service credit or applying for retirement/DROP entry. Members may also request forms, obtain their account balance, confirm their beneficiary on file, and much more by contacting our Call Center. To set up an appointment with a retirement counselor, you must be within 6 months of becoming both age and service eligible to retire (not applicable to disability retirement and purchase of service credit appointments – contact the Call Center for more information). Please first submit your service retirement, DROP entry, or DROP retirement application online via your Member Portal account; after you have done so, an SDCERS representative will contact you to schedule your appointment.

SDCERS Board Schedule
The SDCERS Board of Administration meets six times a year, approximately every eight weeks, on each scheduled Friday at 9:00 a.m. PST. Meetings are held in SDCERS’ Board Room on the 3rd floor at 401 West A Street, Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92101.
The meeting schedule is reset each January and you can see future dates and times of Board and Committee meetings on our Calendar, towards the bottom of the home page, or by downloading the current year’s meeting schedule available on the Board of Administration page. You can also sign up for electronic notices regarding SDCERS Board and Committee meetings on email subscription signup page.
Fiscal Year Priorities and Action Plan
Each year, SDCERS’ Board of Administration and staff leadership agree on a set of top priorities that support our Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Core Values. In turn, the SDCERS Leadership Team develops an Action Plan for the fiscal year to support those top priorities. These Action Plans are typically above and beyond the regular daily business conducted by staff, and some items may take more than one year to complete. The number of priorities and supporting Action Plan items in any given year is based on the needs of the organization, the Board of Administration, and SDCERS participants.
